How do I edit a route without the rest of it moving?

Add intermediate control points first. Moving a point re-routes everything between the nearest control points, so long-tap (or on the website, click) the red route line to add a control point just before the section you want to change — everything behind it stays anchored.

To move a point, press and hold it, then drag.

All editing works in both the app and the website.
