Peak bagging keeps a record of every summit you’ve stood on, and tracks how far you are through the rounds you’re working on — the Munros, the Wainwrights, the Corbetts and plenty more.
You don’t tick anything off by hand. When you save a recorded hike, HiiKER checks your track against its register of summits and adds any it finds.
The three words you’ll see
- Peak — a single named summit.
- List (or round) — a named collection of peaks, like the 214 Wainwrights.
- Bagged — you’ve been to the top of it, and HiiKER has recorded that.
Good to know
- It’s free. There’s no subscription needed for any part of it.
- A peak only counts if it’s on a recording. Planning a route doesn’t bag anything.
- A peak can belong to several lists at once, so one summit can move you along in more than one round.
- Walking the same peak again adds another ascent rather than counting it twice.
Where to find it
Open HiiKER and tap My Peaks on the home screen.
Peak heights and list memberships come from the Database of British and Irish Hills.
