You can update the email address on your HiiKER account at any time. This is the email you use to log in and the one we send confirmations and account notices to. After you change it, we send a confirmation link to the new address to make sure it’s really yours — your new email isn’t active until you click that link.
How do I change my email address?
The quickest place to do this is on the HiiKER website, but you can also do it in the Android app. Choose the option that suits you below.
On the web (works for everyone, including iPhone/iPad users)
- Go to hiiker.app and sign in.
- Open your Settings page (your profile menu → Settings).
- In the Account section you’ll see your current email. Tap Change email.
- Enter your new email address and tap Send confirmation.
- Open your inbox at the new address and click the confirmation link we send you.
That’s it — once you’ve clicked the link, your new email is confirmed and you can use it to log in.
On Android
- Open the HiiKER app and go to your profile.
- Tap Edit Profile.
- Tap the Email field, enter your new address, and tap Save.
- For security, the app will sign you out. Check your inbox for the confirmation email and click the link.
- Log back in using your new email address and your existing password.
On iPhone / iPad
There isn’t an option to change your email inside the iOS app yet. Please use the website instead (see the web steps above). You can sign in with the same account in your phone’s browser.
Why do I have to confirm my new email?
Confirming proves the new address belongs to you and protects your account. When you change your email we:
- Update your sign-in email straight away, and
- Send a confirmation link to the new address.
Until you click that link your email shows as unconfirmed. We recommend confirming right away so you don’t miss account or trip notifications.
I didn’t receive the confirmation email
- Check your spam / junk folder.
- Make sure you typed the new address correctly — a small typo means the email goes nowhere.
- Give it a few minutes; delivery can occasionally be delayed.
- Still nothing? Head to Settings and use the Resend option, or change the email again to the correct address.
Will I lose my hikes, saved trails or subscription?
No. Changing your email only updates how you sign in and where we contact you. Your saved trails, recorded hikes, and account history all stay exactly where they are. Your HiiKER PRO+ subscription is also unaffected — App Store and Google Play subscriptions are tied to your Apple/Google account, not to your HiiKER email.
Do I need to use my new email to log in?
Yes. After the change, sign in with your new email address and your existing password. On Android you’ll be asked to log in again automatically; on the web you can keep your current session but should use the new email next time you sign in.
